Homework Help: Home Economics: Cooking: Big Chocolate Chip Cookie

*Preheat oven to 350 degrees 10 minutes before baking*

1/2 cup or 1 stick softened margarine
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar

-In a large mixing bowl, with a wooden spoon, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.

1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla

-In a small bowl, break and beat the egg. Beat in the beaten egg and vanilla into the sugar mixture.

1 and 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

-Use a second bowl of medium size. Measure all of the ingredients with dry measuring cups. Always level off each of these ingredients. Mix with a fork.
-Add the measured flour mixture graduallt into the sugar mixture. Blend with a wooden spoon. Do not use a mixer!

1- 6 oz. Package semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

-Using a wooden spoon or spatula, blend in the above ingredients.
-Prepare a 12'' pizza pan for baking. Cover the pizza pan with aluminum foil. Spray the aluminum foil with cooking spray. Spread the cookie dough with a greased spatula over the entire pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
