Homework Help: Music: Reading: Accents

While reading your music, did you ever see one of those < signs and not know what it was for? Well finally, I'm here to explain it to you.

If you see the < sign under one of your notes, it means that that note should be louder and emphasized more than the others. The < sign is called an accent and is commonly used in warm up scales.
