Lunch boxes are small carrying containers students use to transport dietary articles back and forth from home to school and back. Lunch boxes were originally made out of sheep skin and resembled a sack or bag more than a box. Lunch boxes come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Almost all back to school, school supply lists include lunch boxes.
Lunch boxes are used by students as well as parents and teachers. Construction workers use heavy duty titanium coated lunch boxes. Lunch boxes on the space shuttle are solar powered. The Scooby Doo lunch box is very popular. My favorite lunch box was a Spiderman lunch box.
Lunch boxes are adorned with the student’s favorite song artists, hip hop artists, and rap artists. Many movies characters are displayed on lunch boxes. Many cartoon characters are displayed on student’s lunch boxes.
Most lunch boxes come with a thermos. A thermos is an insulated container used to hold liquids. Many thermoses also display slogans and various graphics on them. Lunch boxes come in many diverse colors. Modern lunch boxes are well insulated; some even have battery packs to keep food warm.
During the sixties there were a lot of groovy lunch boxes with flowers and peace symbols on them. The hippies from the sixties used to carry their munchies in their lunch boxes. Today lunch boxes come equipped with accessories such as radios, I-pods, and cell phones. Modern lunch boxes come with GPS tracking devices for child safety.
