What is the value of n so that the expression x^2+11x+n is a perfect square trinomial?
This is what I got and they were right ( Connections Academy )
C. 30.25
B. X = -1
D. No solution
B. 8 in
Hi is right. For connections academy it is C, B, D, B.
take 1/2 of the middle term coefficient and square that number
(1/2)(11 = 11/2
squared gives us 121/4
so x^2 + 11x + 121/4 = (x+11/2)^2
so n = 121/4 or 30.25 if you want a decimal
